Whether you're a young adult or a kid realizing that you are different from your peers, it can feel so isolating and confusing. You may spend time wondering why you're not connecting with others and worrying about how you'll fit in or express yourself. Falling or staying asleep, trying new things, and focusing might be difficult. You may be experiencing a lack of confidence and may not always feel comfortable being yourself. There might be things you want to say or show others but you're not sure how. (Or you may be a parent whose child is going through this!)
If you (or your child) are experiencing this, please know that there is hope. Together, we can explore creative ways to decrease worry and nervousness, increase self-esteem and confidence, build a support system, and be more comfortable! My clinical focus is in working with self-esteem, anxiety, and folks that are different than most. I am also able to write letters for gender affirmation surgeries for transgender or gender expansive folks.
If this spoke to you (or described your child), I would love to hear from you. I am passionate about working creatively (play/arts based) to provide a unique healing and growth experience. Primarily, I serve children 2-10 and young adults 14-25, especially those who are autistic or LGBTQ+. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Child Mental Health Specialist; I also have a pending Registered Play Therapist certification. I'm open to telehealth appointments for clients 18+ and mixing in-person/telehealth for youth and caregivers, depending on need. Feel free to visit my site for more information and please reach out. I look forward to meeting you!
