I made my way into the field of counseling psychology through a natural propensity for active listening and a genuine desire and curiosity about what I might do to help others navigate life’s challenges. The intricacies of human thought, behavior, and emotion are endless, so I have a belief that everyone can use a guide and confidant at times. I have learned that an atmosphere of genuine support, connection, a listening ear, active feedback, psycho-education and structured steps forward can go a long way in navigating life’s challenges, be them transitory or long-term. I strive to create an atmosphere of collaborative humanistic support, interwoven with concrete skills for daily living and striving to optimize the idea of healthy balance in one’s life. I enjoy meeting people where they are and bearing witness to the changes that can and do occur when the right combination of interventions, support and healing are present. Each person holds within them power for change if thoughtfully nurtured and encouraged.
