Personal Statement:
I have always felt called to a life of service. After exploring a few different helping professions, I landed in social work. Starting off at Crisis Residential Center, I worked with at-risk youth while I obtained my bachelor’s in social work from Eastern Washington University. I went on to acquire my Master of Social Work degree from Walla Walla University. I spent 6 years working with teenagers and adults struggling with co-occurring substance and mental health disorders in an outpatient setting, providing both group and individual services. On top of working at Anchor Point Counseling, I also work in a medical setting as a mental health provider using the AIMS treatment model in collaboration with the University of Washington.
Theoretical Approach:
My theoretical orientation is eclectic, and client centered. I tailor my approach to the clients needs, age, and skill set. I specialize in trauma treatment, utilizing EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. I am currently working towards certification in EMDR. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Washington and maintain certification in Washington State as a Chemical Dependency Professional.
