I aspire to work with people who are feeling emotionally bottled up and struggling to find a place to express their heavy thoughts and feelings. Whether that be an anxious thought that leaves a person feeling on edge, a depressive mood that leaves a feeling of little to no motivation/joy, or maybe something in between. I want to create an environment that is safe to express thoughts and feelings that are difficult to confront and develop new ways to navigate those situations.
My method begins by creating an atmosphere of unconditional positive regard, allowing individuals to feel secure in expressing the most genuine aspects of their lives and finding significance in their challenges. This is achieved by integrating cognitive behavioral theories, emotion-focused therapy, and mindfulness practices.
