He has treated individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, addictions, developmental disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, impulse control and attentional difficulties, relationship problems, grief/loss, and family conflicts.
Drew’s theoretical orientation is eclectic, drawing from several different philosophies including person-centered (humanistic), existential, transpersonal, ecopsychology, Buddhist psychology, and gestalt psychology. These philosophies propose that each person has within them an inherent transformative power to realize their human potential. Drew’s goal is to help his clients realize and take responsibility for this power, helping them look deeply at the unfolding process of experience, freeing them from unconscious relationship patterns that may be holding them back from realizing their potential.
Drew practices a variety of therapeutic modalities including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, clinical heart centered hypnotherapy and gestalt expressive arts therapy. The therapeutic techniques that Drew uses are tailored to the needs of the individual with an emphasis on the healing power of the therapeutic relationship.
